Listed are the Michigan Farm Bureau's top three priorities, the estimated economic impact on the industry, and indication of short- or long-term research.

1. Phytophthora in vine crops, cucurbits, etc. The estimated economic impact is $5 million to $10 million annually. This is a long-term priority for gaining federal multi-state assistance.

2. Control, industry and consumer outreach and identification of the emerald ash borer (EAB). The estimated economic impact is significant. This is a short-term priority.

3. Value-added commodity profiles through partnership for product agriculture. The estimated economic impact is significant. This is a long-term priority.


The board of directors of the Michigan Farm Bureau determined these priorities in response to board and delegate actions.
